In the era of Harvey Weinstein, we’ve been seeing dozens of people “biting the dust” at the hand of sexual misconduct, rape allegations and everything in between. Though, the comic book community hasn’t faced much “fatalities” when it comes to this. The most notable being Brett Ratner (producer, RatPac Entertainment) and Andrew Kreisberg (producer of THE FLASH and SUPERGIRL) who Warner Bros. has since cut ties with both. As far as I’m concerned, one is too many, but it appears (with rising allegations) that there could be another, and a far more prominent face in the community too.

Ryan Parry at the Daily Mail is reporting,

Stan Lee has been hit with several allegations of sexual assault and harassment by nurses caring for him at his Hollywood Hills home…

According to Parry, multiple nurses are claiming that the Marvel legend, Stan Lee, has been exposing himself and sexually harassing them.
A source told Daily Mail,

[Lee is] very handsy and has groped some of the women…

This is absolutely horrifying as far as I’m concerned. No man, woman or “legend” has the right to do what’s being alleged, let alone get away with such atrocities. We’ve seen tons of “doxxing” in this area of Hollywood darkness, and at this stage I honestly wouldn’t be surprised who was the next person up.

It’s disheartening to see an individual accused of such atrocities, and I’m a firm believer in “innocent until proven guilty.” That’s why I cringed a bit upon seeing that the owner of the nursing company had confirmed the allegations, as Parry reported,

A rep for the nursing company confirmed that the female owner had received several complaints from nurses who had worked at Lee’s house and she had complained directly to Lee.

Though, despite the owner confirming the complaints, my gut turns. And don’t take me the wrong way, I’m very well aware that it’s hard for women to come forward and report these situations. But they are in this case, to their boss, and instead of filing with the police (or even a civil suit) apparently they’re demanding higher pay,

Instead, Mr. Lee has received demands to pay money and threats that if he does not do so, the accuser will go to the media.

Whenever blackmail is the end result in a scenario like this (instead of going to the authorities), it mucks up the water and makes it extremely hard to tell what the truth is. I hope that this is nothing more than a few individuals trying to make a quick buck, which they should be punished for– but if it’s in fact true, Lee is not above the law. No one is. This is what the justice system is for, and I urge everyone to wait to form a final opinion until all the facts are out.
